∙ 14y agoYes, there is no problem in taking those 2 medications together. They're often prescribed together, waiting for celexa to control anxiety. However, you should keep in mind that stopping lorazepam eventually will be a better choice and reduce risks of dependance.

∙ 15y agoYes you can. I take the two together. You have to be sure to take Ativan ONLY when you really need it,until the celexa kicks in. I love it when I really need it. No adverse reactions. Take as directed and realize that it is HIGHLY addictive if you take it everyday in large doses. Be cautious and talk to your doctor.

∙ 14y agoYes - they will have additive effects. Increased sedation/sleepiness, decreased respiratory rate. Benzodiazepines are relatively safe, meaning they are hard to overdose on. That being said, use them as directed by your doctor. Mixing them with other things (especially alcohol or barbiturates can be VERY dangerous)

Lorazepam (Ativan) is a benzodiazepine tranquelizer. You will test positive for benzodiazepines. Take your medication bottles in with you when you take the test. They are legitimate prescriptions, and you are under a doctor's care, so it is fine if they show up on the test.
