They must live in the same cage, because the mother hamster must nurse her pup.

When the Hamster is 4 weeks old, it could leave its mother.

it really depends on what kind of hamster... if it is a solitary hamster like the Syrian than PLEASE separate them. they will fight to the death. if it's a dwarf hamster, it might be ok. MIGHT. just observe them and if u notice any fighting, remove the daughter immediately.

no. the new born babies have to stay with their mom until they are 2 weeks old or maybe more.

don't touch them until they can walk.

But NEVER put the babies with the dad, and NEVER put the mom with the dad. they don't work very well together, they will start biting each other. it isn't very pleasant. unless they are mating.( mating is daddy making mother pregnant.)

Probably. Unless you will look at that cage and remember a previous hamster that died than its perfectly fine. just make it act like its both of theirs.

There should never be more than one adult hamster in one cage. Hamsters are very territorial and will fight each other if necessary which can result in serious injuries.

How many dwarf hamsters can you keep in one cage?

Can you keep two Syrian hamsters in the same room in separate cages?

No it's not. Syrian hamsters are very territorial and need to live alone. If they are kept in a cage together they will fight. As they are relatives they can live together in the same cage for up to 5 weeks. At this age the puppies can get pregnant so must live separately to avoid this. At 5 weeks old they must be split. If you want to keep more than one hamster its best to keep another breed as Syrian hamsters are the only breed that must live alone.

How much room does your Syrian hamster need?

Well hamsters can never have too much room but they can have too little. The smallest for two hamsters is one big cage. After that you can keep adding on, I have two roborovski dwarf hamsters and i attached two cages together and they love it, and they are small hamsters. Hope this info comes in handy

My hamster had mold in her cage and has wet tail she is a baby and she won't eat or drink what should I do PS I only want to know if there IS something I can do?

Well first of all there should not be mold in a hamsters cage. Try taking your hamster out of the cage and keep her/him in something else for a while. Scrub his/her cage really well, get hamster "cage clean" to get the stink out. Your hamster should be fine.

Can hamsters chew through metal?

If the hamster is chewing the bars of the cage, nothing as long as you keep an eye on the cage bar and make sure that the hamster is not eating through the cage! If it is chewing the cage bars it's a sign that he wants to come out. However if your mean that you are feeding him wire then stop cos it'll get caught in the hamsters throat or organs and cause a very traumatic death!

Yes, it is better to keep hamsters of different breeds separate until they are meant to be bred. Usually the male hamster will be introduced to the female hamster within the female's cage or territory during the process of breeding.
