Can be very confusing!! It may depend on the wording of your state's laws, AND whether or not you've petitioned to have your rights restored - AND - whether you are a felon because of violating a state law OR a felon because you violated a Federal law. Once you get those questions cleared up you'll have a clearer idea of whether you can, or can't. Bottom line - if you are convicted Federal felon - forget it - black powder arms are specifically denied to you.

No. Even with an expungement, you still remain a convicted felon, and thus are prohibited from purchasing, possessing, or having access to firearms.
In most cases, you have to petition the court in order to restore your firearm rights, they don't just reappear after probation. Whether or not the local court will allow it (normally) depends on state law, the charge, and the circumstances.

Yes, Idaho allows citizen's arrests but there are specific guidelines that must be followed. Citizens can arrest someone if they witness a felony being committed, or have reasonable grounds to believe a felony has been committed. It is recommended to contact law enforcement as soon as possible after making a citizen's arrest.
Montana has no law regulating non-powder (i.e., BB and air) guns.
