Flying squirrels are basically just squirrels with flaps of skin. Therefore, they eat just about the same things. Nuts and berries, seeds, a random insect here and there.

Well i guess you can consider them one because although they mainly feed on seeds, nuts, fruits, fungi, lichens, buds, mushrooms, roots, pine cones, leaves, twigs and bark, they may eat meat IF they are hungry, BUT they will NOT eat an animal any larger than itself. It may eat bird eggs, snails or insects. Hope this helped :)
