You either got a bad new Switch or more likely you have a power supply problem to the park side of the switch.
there are 5745 lights
YES, but once it gets dark you might need more than your park lights.
Let's say you park your car outside at night and not in a garage. The AUTOMATIC lights will stay on long enough to light the area up and give you time to get inside. They will then go off. Lights in a car without auto lights are designed to be turned on without the ignition being on for safety reasons. If you are driving along at night and your ignition fails you lights will still be on. Also lights draw too much amperage to be routed through the ignition switch.Let's say you park your car outside at night and not in a garage. Is it when the ignition lights on the brake lights are stuck on? If so adjust the brake light switch at the pedal.hope this helps Answer: Its the park lights. The vehicle is probably in park.
A driver must not stop in an intersection or on a road within 20 m of the nearest point of an intersecting road at an intersection with traffic lights. Don't know the year of the truck, but check your brake lights. On year models that you have to press the brake to shift, without a brakelight signal you can't get out of park. Turn the key halfway between lock and on and you can get it out of park.

brake lite switch will keep it in park
You can't unless you remove all the wiring and put in a switch and wire that to the them. Here in Canada, our Neons run with fog lights only as day driving lights. As soon as you insert the key in the ignition, they come on. I guess the light wiring isn't the same as USA's Neons. All you have to do is put the PARK BREAK on 1 click. Day time running lights will shut off with the park break applied. Keep in mind, if it is a real good park break you may be driving with it slightly on.
