No not one you buy new
You can not play a game cube on your PS2
No the PS2 plays select PS titles with a emulator which is easier with the less complex PS games than it is for the PS2 games in the PS3. That is why the PS3 still plays select PS games. Emulators do not play every game like the original PS did
The current versions of the PS3 will play converted (downloaded from the PS Store) PSone and PS2 games. Older, original PS3's (first release) support both PS2 and PS3 disk games. The PS3 will not play PC, Nintendo Wii, or Xbox 360 games.
No. PS 1 games work on PS2 system, but PS2 games don't work on PS1 system. Same with PS3. It will play PS 1, 2 or 3 games. But PS3 games won't work in PS1 or PS2 systems.
There is no free download. The ps3 is made to allow you to play PS, ps2 and ps3 games all in the same system. Only early PS3s with 4 USB ports ever played PS2 games. For the past couple of years all production PS3 consoles made could not play PS2 games. Sony will not ever bring back the ability to play PS2 games in the new machines. See related link on Backwards compatibility from PlayStation
