Can you play a VHS through a projector if so what cable do you suggest?

Audio and Video cables, red and white for audio and yellow for video, if both units have a S-connector use it. The S-cable is a better video cable. If you use a S-cable you don't use the yellow video cable.

Video out from your tv to the video in off the projector. Sometimes you have to make your own connectors. They're not hard to make. Or if the projector is set up to work from s-cable off computer, buy a video in card for your computer plug your tv into this card and play it through the middle man.

Yes you can use a projector to display your computers output onto a projector, white wall/sheet. Keep in mind that a screen is designed to reflect much more light and color than you average white wall so the picture might not be as crisp as you want. Also keep in mind that the projector will have to have the correct input to match your computer output (VGA, HDMI, etc) or you have to have converters that will fit the inputs. Its a great way to play games, watch movies, office work, edit photos/videos, etc. You can find cheap projectors easy on eBay. Good luck Have Fun.
