How do you convert spdif into rca stereo?

SPDIF is a digital audio interface and is designed to transfer audio from one device to another without converting the signal to analog. Eventually, the signal will become analog as the speakers require an analog signal. to work.

Almost all audio devices that have a SPDIF output also have an analog output so rather than buying a SPDIF to analog converter, use an existing analog output. If the device with the digital output doesn't have an analog output, then you don't have much choice about buying a converter unit. The converter is an active device so don't expect to find a simple converter cable. They don't cost a lot and they can be obtained from many specialist electronics stores. Good starting points are Radio Shack in the US or Maplin in the UK

Is there a Windows laptop available that has stereo audio input?

Real simple. Buy a USB head set. this will allow you to have a digital vs. analog audio which is much more desirable. If you by a headset with a mic it will also allow you to record audio with the ability to edit more quickly and easily with less static or the chance of the analog connector being damaged.

Answer

Yes! all of them do! go to radio shack to find the part to connect it to your laptop.

Answer

If you find a laptop with stereo audio input, I'll buy it too: as far as I can tell they all have only mono input. One way around this is to buy a USB audio adapter price around $100

Answer

Some do, but most don't. If a laptop has only 2 audio jacks, they're usually a stereo line output and a mono microphone input (mono only because a microphone normally has a mono plug; the input goes to both channels of the sound card). But if it has 3 audio jacks, that 3rd one is usually a stereo line input. Toshiba and Ac er are two brands I know of that often have a line input jack. I've heard rumors that built in sound cards in laptops have poor audio quality. I don't know if that's true (I probably wouldn't be able to tell, anyway), but maybe that's why a lot of them don't bother with a line input. So if high sound quality is important to you, and compactness isn't, then you might end up buying the external USB sound card even if you get a laptop with 3 inputs. One example of an external USB sound card is Creative Labs "Sound blaster Live!" ($45 at Tiger Direct). I have the older, lower sound quality model that preceded it, and I like it a lot. I use it to record mp3 files from my old Lap's.

Why is plasma TV technology a failure?

The question presumes that plasma television technology is failure and that is far from the truth. Plasma televisions have been around since the early days of flat screen television and were in fact the only technology available to reach the 40" and larger screen sizes.

When they were launched, they could boast higher contrast and better color saturation than the LCD based competitive products. Both technologies suffered a little from image smearing, caused by the time taken for a pixel to change from one level to another although there was a general consensus that plasma displays were a little faster to update than many LCD models.

Plasma was not without problems and many early televisions suffered from images being "burnt" onto the screen where static images were allowed to remain on view for too long. Plasma screens have been expensive and over the last ten years or so, LCD prices have reduced in cost faster than many plasma models.

Plasma displays in 2013 are becoming unusual and although there are still a number of models on sale, the development of LCD displays with LED back lighting and the upcoming OLED displays, the future for plasma is looking bleak. It will be something of a surprise to see plasma on sale by the end of 2013 if current trends continue.

Although we can expect plasma to fade away very soon, the technology has served users well over the previous decade and despite a few problems, it has been a success during that time.

Is it possible to replace a broken LCD tv screen?

The answer is yes, but without more information, it's difficult to tell how hard it'll be to do. It can also be quite expensive (usually around the original cost of the TV for a new replacement screen). If you have a LCD projector set, that too can be quite expensive unless you're able to obtain a rebuilt unit somewhere. That too can be major surgery, depending on the make and model.

Is 3d sound the same as surround sound?

3D sound is a technique used to place sounds around listeners so that they have an impression of sound coming from locations in front, behind, above and below them. The techniques make extensive use of sound processing or specialized recording techniques.

It is not surround sound but 3D sound can make use of a surround sound replay systems or two speaker stereo systems. More commonly, headphones are used to accurately reproduce 3D sound.

Is there a need to calibrate big screen TV?

It depends on the type of big screen. Large plasma or LCD displays need no calibration although there are some set up procedures in most that will help to optimise the image when it is installed.

Projected television displays may need an amount of calibration. The latest rear projected televisions use LCD or DLP technology and these will require nothing more than a focus adjustment. Even that adjustment is not available on many models.

Older projectors use three CRTs (vacuum tubes similar to older televisions). These televisions need to be set up to produce a square image positioned properly on the screen and then the red and blue images need to be aligned to the green image. It's a process that can take several minutes to an hour or more. Once done, the image tends to remain stable unless the television is moved. As the television ages, it will normally benefit from another set up that will improve the image quality. Each model has a similar set up process but the manual will provide full and detailed instructions.

How does a plasma TV work?

How a Plasma TV Works

Plasma TVs use small chambers of a plasma (gas) to illuminate adjacent areas of phosphors of different colors.

Plasma TVs use thousands of sealed, low pressure glass chambers filled with a mixture of neon and xenon. Behind these chambers are colored phosphors, one red, one blue, and one green for each chamber. When energized, these chambers of "plasma" emit invisible UV light. The UV light strikes the red, green and blue phosphors on the back glass of the display making them produce visible light.

Does the HDMI cable produce a clearer picture than the ypbpr?

HDMI is now the only interface cable to carry domestic HD signals. Therefore there is no comparison with any other HD interface.

When HDMI is compared with analog component signals, there is almost no measurable difference between the two. Despite the hype about digital being better, this is frequently not the case. There is no reason to avoid digital but don't expect digital to automatically be better.

[Sorry, but that's simply incorrect. HD resolution TV can be transmitted or "carried" over either HDMI or Component, both of which are common on both current televisions and current cable/satellite boxes. HDMI is considered preferable, because it is digital and also carries audio. But you can certainly watch HD video via either HDMI or Component connections. You ARE correct that there is little or no noticeable difference in the displayed video.]

The current implementation of component video has a maxium resolution of 1080i, whereas HDMI has rated specifications all the way to 4k, although there is no consumer products that produce or display that resolution. Movie studios have lobbied to reduce the resolution of modern DVD and Blu-Ray players to 480p, except when connected with HDMI cables.

What is remapping audio channels for 5.1 surround?

Remapping is sometimes offered to allow 2-channel speaker systems to play back 5.1 surround DVDs. This option remaps the rear speaker sound to the front two speakers so that sound effects, music and other rear-only sounds can be heard if you only have 2 speakers.

Is the epic cube a good home theater system?

The side and rear speakers seem to be a knock-off of a Bose design. I would be suspicious of any high-end consumer product that had the Suggested List Price (in this case, $2200) printed right on the box, especially when all online sellers sell this system for far less (just a couple of hundred). The only place selling these Epic Sound systems are people dumping them on Ebay and other used gear sites.

This seems to be just an updated version of the back-of-the-van selling technique that was popular years ago.

Is s video better than rca?

RCA connectors can be used for both composite (1 connector) video and component (3 connector) video. The quality order is:

BASIC - Composite (1 RCA wire, Yellow)

BETTER - S-Video (1 wire, usually black)

BEST - Component (3 RCA wires, Red, Green Blue)

Composite can only send standard definition video, up to 480i.

S-Video can only send standard definition video, up to 480i.

Component can send video up to 1080i High Definition.

If your big screen TV has a blue and yellow shadow on half of the screen is that a TV problem or a reception problem?

If it is reception, it will only appear on one channel. If it is on all channels it is the TV. It also depends on area of problem. An LCD projector probably has a bad engine, but a CRT projector could be low on coolant if problem shows on the bottom half, usually related to Phillips Magnavox types, and a standard picture tube type may just be from magnetism caused by large speakers close to the screen, really close, or moving the TV and worse effect if it was laid face down and turned on. Last problem may self correct in about five startups from being off a while, or you need a tech to demagnetize. One more in the same area of thought is a thermal device for that circuit, only in picture tube standard TVs

When was the VCR created?

1963 was when the first home VCR was offered for sale, the Telcan.

Technically speaking, the Telcan was not a VCR, (Video Cassette Recorder) it was a fixed-head longitudinal videotape recorder. A Reel-to-Reel mounted on top of a television.

The first consumer video cassette recorders were made available in 1971.

What is the importance or significance of knowing the video input bandwidth?

AnswerBandwidth is defined as the frequency range that the circuit, component, cable, or complete system can pass where the frequencies reproduced , transmitted, or amplified worst come out at least half as strong as those coming out best.

For screen resolution on HDTV monitors and smooth and uninterrupted transmission of video, and set all video buffering in advance we need to know the video input bandwidth.
