No the PS3 slim like most PS3 Game consoles except the very first models with 4 USB ports will not play PS2 games. There is no quick fix which will allow you to play the games, no discs or software that you can purchase and play the Old PS2 games. However most people find that there are plenty of new PS3 games and the lack of the ability to play the PS2 games has not stopped the PS3 Slim from selling out. The Sony Style USA store has had to limit orders to only 2 to a customer and new orders for both the 120 GB and 250 GB model are again being placed on Backorder due to the overwhelming demand. No the new PS3 slim can not play PS2 games. To make the PS3 profitable and have it quit selling for a loss Sony stopped making PS3s that could play PS2 games long before the release of the PS3 slim. The only reason you could ever play PS2 games on the first PS3s was the game catalog for the PS3 was next to nothing. Once the catalog of games increased they dropped the ability to play PS2 games.
