Since they don't use the same food source, they aren't competitive. However, bigger fish eat smaller fish no matter what. Algae eaters tend to survive when other free-swimming fish get eaten, but if your carp are really aggressive or breeding or maybe just bored, then the algae eaters of whatever kind may get picked on. You could try snails and controlling the amount of light, if algae eating fish don't work out.
No it will eat a bit of algae but it certainly won't be capable of cleaning the tank. The amount it eats will depend on how long it takes before the turtle kills/eats the algae eater.
I suppose so
Try Grass Carp
We have several ponds and would like to put carp in them to keep the algae down. However we also have dye in the ponds for color. so was just wondering if the carp would survive with the dye in the ponds.
all you do is take the bottle of spray and put it on the weed eater
you can put an algae eater in with any tropical fish, I even have a goldfish in with my tropical fish now for almost 8 years. Pet store say no but i beg to differ. 8 yrs going strong, gold fish, algae eater, angel fish, silver dollars. Some fish are more dominate over others. I have learned no matter what they are if they are put in the tank, all as new fish as the same time, they all get along. After one dies, then as time goes on a new one has to earn its peck so to speak, so new ones get picked on. I have an algae eater and a cat fish. all is good.
Yes, you can introduce an algae eater fish, such as a plecostomus or a Chinese algae eater, into a koi pond. However, it's important to consider the size of the fish and the pond, as algae eaters can grow large and may compete with koi for food. Additionally, ensure that the water conditions are compatible for both species. Always monitor their interactions to ensure a harmonious environment.
No, as long as the light is not too bright. If you get castle or something to put into the tank, then it can stay in there without being directly in the light
I do not know of any Algae eaters that can live in cold water . Goldfish are cold water fish. So unless you can find some species of cold water algae eater the answer is no they can not be kept together successfully.
You could put in more goldfish. You could also try some White Cloud Mountain Minnows. If you want a Algae eater then you could get one or two Chinese Algae eaters.
take out all the algae and put in a filter or oxygenating plants
You can put a Otocinclus. But the rule is an inch per gallon so try an Otocinclus all the other eaters will be too big for a little tank.
