It's not a good idea, especially if your cartilage has been pierced with a larger gauge. It can cause what most people call the "cheesecutter" effect and cut the skin of your ear, causing the piercing to get infected or close up altogether. Another thing to be cautious about is the material the earrings made of as most are shoddy costume jewellery. Your best bet is to buy a high quality piece from bodyartforms.com or somewhere similar.

The short answer is no. Earrings are usually not a proper shape for a navel piercing, and are rarely of a proper size and diameter.

Is it normal to have puss in your cartilage piercing?

Here's a better answer for you. No, it is not normal. It is more then likely that your piercing is infencted, and should be treated at once before it gets worse. Simply remove the earring, and clean the area with the cleaning substances you should have been giving when you got your piercing, and let the area heal. If it gets any worse, go see a doctor for better treatment. DO NOT PUT THE PIERCING BACK IN! If you want to get another cartilage done, you'll either have to wait for the area to heal completely, and then go back in and get it re-done, or have your other ear pierced. Either way, both require the proper care, meaning you need to clean it twice a day, and make sure you move it around every once in awhile.

Can swimming with a new cartilage piercing effect it?

Yes. Water is filled with germs and thats not good for a new piercing. It really increases the chances of infection. If it gets infected, you could end up with permanent scarring or disfigurement of the cartilage in the area. Just wait 2-3 months to put the piercing in the water. You can go swimming as long as you dont get the piercing wet. Cover it with a bandaid to prevent any water from being splashed on it and clean it well afterwards.

What type of ear piercing does Zero from vampire knight have?

If you're talking about the on his left ear, then it's most likely a slip on kind of earring. I think it's called a charm earring or something like that. You pretty much just put it on your ear, no piercing needed. Its called a Cuff earring, you can get a piercing for it, but you can also get clip on cuffs, however i'm told they can get very uncomfortable, like most clip on earrings. The cuff earrings you can get for when you have it pierced tend to be more complex, and look nicer. :)
