Inside the transmission, on the valve body.
4 quarts My understanding is for an 2000-2003 Automatic transaxle Neon it is 4.0 Quarts (3.8 Liters), for an 2000 Manual Transaxle Neon it is 2.0 to 2.3 Quarts (1.9 to 2.2 Liters), and for 2001-2003 Manual Transaxle Neon it is 2.5 to 2.8 Quarts (2.4 to 2.7 Liters).
My transmission went on my 2000 Dodge Neon one year ago. My Radiator also broke at the same time. I was able to get a used transmission. The total repair costs totaled $1750 for me.
