I had no problem placing my male betta in my 10 gallon tank with both male and female guppies although the fantail guppies got their tails nipped a little. He became chummy with the female pot belly molly.I think it really depends on the betta.I would put it in the tank and watch for a while before you kept it there.
Technically, if the tank provides enough room so that the fish aren't crowded (one inch of fish body length per-gallon is considered ideal) one male beta can be kept in a tank with guppies. However, if the guppies are of the ornate and fancy variety with considerable finage I might be cautious and have a back-up plan. However, I've seen it done and there are a number of aquarium books saying that its alright.
no, because even though the two are both fish, they are different types. its like a housecat can't mate with a lion
Most fish will eat any small fish that they can fit in their mouth. A Betta will eat a baby guppy but could not eat a fully grown one.
i have 3 bettas, 2 neon tetras, and 2 guppies in the same tank. NO PROBLEMS. so the answer is yes. depending o the tank size. (5 gallons or up should be good)
No not naturally platies are livebearers and bettas lay eggs
no the Betta fish will eat the guppies
The male will pursue the female relentlessly. You will need to provide shelter for her.
No.
Yes all bettas can mate with other bettas. " regular betta fish" there are different types and they can all breed together.
Betta's are pretty good with other fish, it's rare that they will fight, maybe with other betta's
If they are not too old and the female is ready, then they will mate.
no because male betta's are really aggressive to other betta's which plakats are male's. but female betta's can stay with other females. don't try to, one of your betta's are going to end up dead.
Yes
A girl Betta is dull and not as pretty as the male. But, a boy Betta is colorful and pretty to attract the female mate.
No, betta fish are best as solitary fish, and unless they are going to mate, they do not swim together
betta fish mate when the male starts to make a bubble nest.he does this when the temp is raised to about 27-28c,now you need to separate the female into a private chamber where the male can see in the same tank for a few hours.then release her.if all goes well your beta fish will mate
No it means they are ready to mate and might even have eggs in it if there is a female in the same tank.
No, Betta fish are aggressive toward any other fish they see. They cannot mate.
