Depends on the SUV. Most were not intended for it.
It runs. High octane is what is required by high compression engines in order to prevent pinging. Unless you put the hi octane fuel in the oil filler. Then it will only briefly run before it explodes.
91 octane
Simple, If you engine requires 91 octane, and you put 87 in it, you will experience a degradation of engine performance, due to the lower octane having faster burn properties. If your engine requires 87 octane and you put high octane (90-91 octane) fuel into it, you will NOT see a performance boost, and may even see a slight decline in performance. What 99% of all people don't know is that High Octane fuel actually burns more slowly, than lower octane fuel. This property, allows higher compression prior to detonation, hence more performance at combustion.
put the 92 octane for keep your engine clean and for the turbo engine 1.4 not 1.8 the 92 is the best performance at 4000 rpm high
their really is not a specific fuel octane mix. if you just run premium in it, it will be fine, but if you do put octane in, just put a little bit in it. because it could make your fuel too rich and foul out your spark plugs.
Many car engines run on gasoline. If the octane is low, the engine will knock. If it is high, the engine will not knock, which means that sometimes it will make a knocking sound as you drive along. It also might keep running when you turn off the key to the car. With high octane, the engine also starts easier. It is more expensive to make high octane fuel. Lower octane fuel gets better milage. There are two organic chemicals: isooctane and heptane. Isooctane is a good fuel for cars. It is rated at 100 octane. Heptane is a bad fuel for cars. It is rated at zero octane. When gasoline is made, they need to make a certain octane. They put the gasoline in a car engine. They then run the car with a mixture of isooctane and heptane. They find the mixture that matches the batch of gasoline. That is the octane rating of the new batch of gasoline.
If the manual says put in premium fuel, in a turbo car, you MUST put in premium fuel. Your car has a detonation sensor, and it will know when you don't put high octane fuel in because the fuel/air mixture will prematurely detonate. This is VERY bad for your engine, but your computer will sense the detonation and pull back ignition timing to protect itself. This will result in poor performance and poor fuel efficiency-the computer will try to prevent detonation by throwing too much fuel into the cylinder as a means of self defense and by restricting the amount of "boost" the turbo is allowed to make. Turbo cars MUST have high octane fuel unless they are tuned for low octane. Your vehicle's service manual will tell you what fuel to put in. My manual says I must run 91 octane, and in parts of New Mexico, I could only get 90 octane off the highway. My car ran like hell because of it....
Fuel efficiency for SUVs is not one of their strongest suites. At best for an SUV, you're looking at getting around 18 miles per gallon of fuel you put into the gas tank.
depends on the wrong fuel you put in it. There are a lot of different fuels. In general, if you put the wrong fuel in the engine, if its a higher octane it will over rev and blow up. If its a lower octane, it will puddle and flood the system.
what do you mean wrong fuel did you put diesel or 89 or 93 octane in it when it runs on 87
Yes, you can use 89 octane gas in your 2004 Lexus GX470, as it is designed to run on regular unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 87. However, using higher octane fuel may provide slight improvements in performance and efficiency, particularly under heavy loads or in high temperatures. It's always best to consult your owner's manual for specific fuel recommendations. Regularly using higher octane fuel than necessary is generally not required and may not offer significant benefits.
They are additives that you put in your gas tank when it is full to clean your fuel system or improve the octane rating of the fuel.
