Although I did not consult a doctor, I frequently use peroxide on my hemorrhoids. I soak a piece of folded toilet paper and apply to the affected area directly. There is an initial stinging of the anus when applying, but hold it until the pain numbs. You may need to repeat several times until the area does not sting upon applying. The result is relief from the pain and itchin until the area is irrated again, usually by using the bathroom/wiping. From personal experience I find it a much better method of temporary relief then Preporation H. Recently I have been experimenting with applying 'Band-aid' anti-septic with lidocaine after treatment with Peroxide. I find this method works best although the anti-septic warnings on the bottle warn not to use more then 3 times a day so use your own discretion.
