The removal of members involved in the construction of any house. prefab or otherwise, should be looked at with great care. Economics dictates that no builder will pay to put a beam in a building that does not have to be there. Therefore is seems reasonable to assume that you would be better of leaving it there, At least check with the maker or with some one that has building experience before touching it.
