GREEN WORKS AND SEVENTH GENERATION AND YOUR MAMA
It's really best to have mold removed from your home as soon as you notice it. Leaving it there can be quite harmful to your lungs.
No. Leaving potentially hazardous food out at room temperature overnight is not safe.
Toxic mold can be removed with a variety of natural means. Tree tea oil, grapefood seed extract and vinegar spray have had positive results in the safe removal of mold.
I would not recommend eating any raw meat. Meat that have been dried (bilton) or smoked would be safer to eat than raw meat - though it is all a matter of taste..
nday, June 04, 2006Is Smoked Meat Cooked or RawQ: Dear Jeff, Could you please tell me if the food we smoke is raw or cooked? We have a debate going with friends that the heat of the smoke cooks the meat over a long period of time.Is this correct? Could you please tell me how the smoked meat is cooked? Is it by actual heat or just the heat of the smoke? Our friends feel that any meat, smoked, is raw. Can we feel safe eating this smoked meat, especially pork? Also, why does the meat appear pink when it is smoked? Thanks, AnnieA: There are 2 main types of smoking.. cold smoking and hot smoking. I do not delve into cold smoking for the most part, however I do know that it is smoking at a temperature of 90 degrees or less over a long period of time.Hot smoking is the type of smoking that I deal with.. it is smoking meat at a temperature of 225 degrees. The meat is fully cooked to the recommended safe USDA temperature. The pink look of smoked meat comes from the pigments in the meat being affected chemically by the smoke which keeps the meat from turning to it's cooked color as it normally would.Hot smoked meats are fully cooked just as they would be in any convection oven or even a crock pot. The only difference is the addition of smoke which flavors the meat based on the type of wood you are using.Hope this helps settle the debate with your friend
are green olives with blue mold in jare safe to eat
No. Smoking and curing are both methods that effectively cook food. Just smoked food is safe, just cured food is safe and when something is both smoked and cured it is also safe.
There is black mold growing in my house. I need to get rid of it, but I do not know what to do. I want to be safe, careful and thorough in removing it. What should I do about black mold removal?
3 days :)
I would suggest that you do the following instead. Remove and discard any shingles that are affected by mold. Use a natural disinfectant like Benefect to disinfect all other areas.
Mold is not safe to eat, whether it is growing on cheesecake or anywhere else. Some species of mold are quite toxic, and may result in pancreatic cancer. Don't eat it.
