Rubbing alcohol is good to remove certain stains from wood floors like nail polish. Rubbing alcohol can stain some wood finishes so a test should be done before using.
I found out that Rubbing alcohol will remove dried latex paint on hard wood floors.
Rubbing alcohol is alternately called Methyl Alcohol, Wood alcohol and Isopropyl Alcohol. Note that it is toxic.
yes
To get hairspray off of varnished wood, use a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol to clean the affected area. Then use a bit of soap and water on the wood, and allow the wood to dry.
well... if its pure rubbing alcohol, it should evaporate on its own.. maybe use a hairdryer? Stroke the wood with good solid pressure until it oozes out.
yes but it will not do much. If you are wondering wether it will kill bacteria or blood on wood, then i would say most probably not as wood absorbs fluids/bacteria.
A mixture of ground pumice stone with a few drops of vegetable or linseed oil will correct rubbing alcohol damage to wood furniture if the alcohol only damaged the finish. Mix the the pumice stone and oil in a bowl until it makes a paste. Put the paste on the damaged area and gently scrub the area with 0000 aught steel wool. Wipe away the excess paste with a clean, damp cloth; then polish the furniture with a high quality polish or furniture wax. If the rubbing alcohol has damaged the wood itself, the damaged area will require refinishing .
can be used in place of rottenstone. Not so good for rubbing out a finish but good for cleaning up bare wood after sanding.
The only one that anyone should drink (in appropriate amounts) is ethanol. Consuming any other kind of alcohol (isopropanol/isopropyl alcohol: "rubbing alcohol", methanol: "wood alcohol") will be really bad for your health.
Use rubbing alcohol on your tools, wash them down (using your rag) with the alcohol and then dry and oil your tools so they don't rust. For your clothing or gloves use fels-naptha soap (it's an old fashioned wood ash lye soap)
NO! It will damage the finish. My matte finish is now shiny in that area.
