Can you run Maplestory on Linux?

It is only possible with virtual machines. VMware Workstation is able to run MapleStory.

A "virtual machine" is a piece of software that emulates a computer (well, most of it, at least) in software - ie a virtualized PC - and allows you to run any OS within another OS, such as Windows within Linux. Programs run inside the "host" or target OS will not be aware they are in an emulator and run as if on a normal PC. Emulating an entire PC requires a fair bit of computing power and RAM though, and users with less-than-optimal CPU power or RAM will experience a lesser optimized experience. Optimal RAM levels hover around 2GB-4GB, and optimal CPU power hovers around the 2.5-3.0GHz mark, although using an OS like Windows 98 would allow one to get away with using 1.5GB RAM and 2.66-2.8GHz.

Note: Overhead is the amount of "load" or "strain" the guest OS (the one in VMware, your emulator) will have on your computer when it's idle (not doing anything, just sitting at the desktop). Windows XP, a more complex OS than Windows 98, would obviously have more overhead than Windows 98 as XP loads more when running, while Windows 98 is less complex, loads less, and provides more resources for running MapleStory.

MapleStory does not function under Wine at this time, so the answer is no.

However, if you install VMWare, you can install a "virtual mini windows" and then install it inside that. It is important to note that there will be a substantial performance loss if that route is chosen.
