AI believe that all condenser AC units vent hot air to the outside while also recirculating inside air while cooling it. It would not seem possible to run one of these in the same room unvented since the same hot air would be returned to the room.

I have a 160 square foot room with two computers, a TV and two laser printers along with all the other stuff that seems to generate lots of heat (cable box, modem, lights, etc). but I insulated the room well and installed a 5000 btu unit high up through the wall from the outside and while it was a pain to do, it works well in the Southern California summers of 100+ days of heat. It also has a remote control which I love.

I also tried the indoor evaporative cooler but that did not work at all and I returned it to Home Depot.

Good luck

There are small packaged A/C units that use waterinstead of air to absorb the wasteheat. Some utilize a bucket of chilled water that needs to be periodically replaced while other can be connected to a water supply and drain. Since water has 800X the desity of air, the amount of hot water produced by one of these units is very small compared to the volume of air that a "standard" A/C unit requires. The units also operate as dehumidifiers, which further reduces the heat content of the air in the room.

ANSWER

All air conditioning must discharge the hot air to work They also remove most of the water in the air. on a rainy day it is totaly ineficient that is why you need a swamp cooler whereby cold water is cycled trough for cooling.

Can a window mount air conditioner be used as a wall mount air conditioner?

Certainly! I mounted a Kenmore 18000 BTU window unit through the wall several years ago and it cools my small house just fine. Just be sure that it tilts down a little at the outside so condensation will drip outside and not all over your floor!
