Diabetes insipidus, which is much less common in cats and dogs than Diabetes mellitus, can occur in any breed or type of dog, at any age, and of either sex. For more information, see the page link, further down this page, listed under Related Links.
you should probably see a doctor...
Diabetes Mellitus is mainly caused by deficiency of insulin due to either destruction of Istet of Langerhans present in the pancreas or any autoimmune cause. Here there is increased blood sugar level and sugar starts to appear to come with urine. It even becomes fatal when sugar level increases very much. While Diabetes insipidus is caused by defect in secretion of vasopressin (Antidiuretic Harmone) which is secreted from pituitary gland present in hypothalamus. Its function is to reabsorb water from distal tubules in the kidney and due to this it contol the concentration of urine. But its deficiency causes increased water excretion through urine even in low intake of water.
You can have sudden onset of gestational diabetes , and the electrolytes may be testing for electrolyte imbalance if you are stiil having vomiting, or possible pre-eclampsia. This can be managed more safely if they see it coming, and makes labor and delivery safer for you and baby. Be glad your OB is so on top of things.
The water deprivation test is a test which is performed to check the regulation of fluid balance and concentration power of your kidneys. Regulation of the fluid balance is a complex process which involves the Pituitary hormone called Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH), the response of kidneys to ADH, amount of fluid intake, various salt contents of your body, etc. The water deprivation test can only be performed on a person who has not taken any fluids. Because of this, the test can only be performed under medical supervision. This test is usually performed in children to see if he/she has Diabetes Insipidus. Diabetes Insipidus is caused either when the Pituitary gland does not release the ADH hormone or when your kidneys do not react to it to control urine production.
Since they don't speak can't see how
There is no evidence to confirm nor refute the claim that infants see spirits.
I am not sure on that one ,but I do know that there is no such thing as pre-diabetes. If you have diabetes you are born with it, but the symptoms might not show until you are older. Once you see symptoms like major weight loss exssessive thirst and urination, see a doctor for diagnosis

possibly but you should see a doctor
It could be several reasons. Strenuous exercise produces sweat which makes you thirsty. Women generally are slightly dehydrated because they mistakenly believe that water makes them bloat. Excessive salt consumption will produce thirst. But if these things do not correct the problem, see your doctor. One of the causes could be diabetes and you need to know. If you are urinating a very frequently then it could be diabetes insipidus.
