To remove the bolt from a Harrington and Richardson Model 765 rifle, first ensure the rifle is unloaded and the safety is on. Pull the bolt back slightly and press the bolt release located on the left side of the receiver. While holding the release, pull the bolt completely out of the receiver. Always handle the rifle safely and ensure it is clear of ammunition before performing maintenance.
