it deppens if you are shooting for geese and duck you should us a shot gun because they have wide spread pellets but if you are shooting for rabbits and don't want to have eny pellets in your meat use a 22 caliber to get a clean shot or if were looking for acurice I would use a 22 because you would get a more acurite shot then a 9 milemeter or 20 gauge
stupid nobody knows the answer to that.

Yes, in the old days my father had only one gun to use for both ducks and deer. A 20 gauge sportsman 58 with a full choke barrel. He shot his share of deer with that gun and my son is using it with slugs even today. ethomsen63@hotmail.com
Technically, trap guns are shotguns that shoot shot shells that are filled with pellets. These are not "bullets" However, you can shoot "slugs" from a trap gun. Slugs are solid lead projectiles much like bullets. 12 ga. slugs are very powerful and can be used to hunt deer in many states.
You could eaither shoot dove with a 20 gauge shotgun or a 12 gauge shotgun. You should also use a bird shot shells
Whatever the correct ammunition is for that gauge. Sabot-loaded slugs tend to be somewhat more accurate than so-called "rifled" slugs in most guns.
If the Stevens double is a modern gun in good condition you can shoot slugs in it. Some double guns may tend to "cross shoot." You'll just have to try it and see. Keep the distance short, to 30 yards or so.
You can, but, it will cause a slight bulge in the barrel.
