Yes you can, provided you have the materials required ( check the smithing skill guide to find out ). You can also Smith Pickaxes provided you have done a certain quest.
Fractite hatchets, and other fractite items, are items used specifically in Dungeoneering.
No, you can strictly only use Hatchets or the Fire Adze.
You can use hatchets to cut wood in RuneScape. There are different hatchets made of different metals. The weakest is the bronze hatchet, and the strongest is the rune hatchet in free to play, and dragon hatchet in pay to play.

I don't know what problem you are having, but you can smith platebodies for 5 bars of whatever. There is a scrollbar you know.
Planks are outside of Varrok in the Lumberyard. You have to be a member to SMITH nails.
1. at the grand exchange 2. at any kind of weapons shop (sword, mace, sceptimar, etc.) 3. trade from another player 4. pickaxes and hatchets may be able to be wield if you have the req. attack lvl.
There are many ways to do this, one way you can do this is by getting some coins from the bank and going to the Grand Exchange located in far North-West Varrock. Another way you can get one is by making it yourself if you have a high enough smithing level. I would go into detail of how to smith it but you can get some for cheap at the Grand Exchange. If you do not have enough money go and beg for one in a highly populated city.
Think. With fishing, you can train cooking. With Wc, you can train fm. But, fishing: - Cost less (No hatchets) - Prices are stable - Fishes are worth more than logs. - Makes up to 1m per hour. Fishing ftw.
