some will let you some wont usually your 1 star ones are ok. And your more expensive ones no not a chance. i know for a fact as ive been that these 3 hotels allow smoking in the hotel. Vijaya, the old nickel, the hotel de laternne. On trip advisor youll reasd review of hotels and the de laterne doesnt get a great rating . Yet when my wife and i went we had no problems at all and weve been back 3 times. If all your looking for is somewhere to sleep after a day and night out sightseeing and coffee shops well this is a perfect base. The old nickel is all about price and location. and the same applies somewhere to sleep. The vijaya again a bit better than the other 2 but also more expensive. personelly id book the de laterne were booked up for the 22nd June. Check out sites like easytobook, Booking.com and trip advisor. Youll find out everything you need to know about location, prive and reviews on loads of other hotels and hostels. If its a more romantic weekend your looking for the hem hotel is nice book a room and when you've booked you can email them and get an uopgrade to room 403 with balcony and jacuzzi for as little as 10 euros a night more well worth it after a says walking round the city nothing beats sitting in a jacuzzi with a fat green 1. Enjoy
No, It is illegal just as it is in the UK. But the Dutch police take a much more relaxed approach. They say they should be focusing their efforts on more dangerous substances/crimes. So they have made a few simple rules like; you have to smoke it in a 'coffeeshop' (no, not like our coffeeshops, it's like a bar basically but selling weed instead of alcohol) You can't order alcohol if your in the coffeeshop-they don't want you to mix them. You are allowed to buy a maximum of 4grams at a time- it's sold by the barman. Strangely you're not allowed to posses it, but it's illegal for the police to search you for it!! Therefore you can buy it & take it back to your hotel room (if you're clever enough to book a hotel that is smoker friendly) Hope this helps
The only place you can smoke weed in Amsterdam is inside the coffee shops. Some people risk smoking it in the street, but it isn't recommended. What you CAN use in the street, for example, are shrooms...you won't get in any trouble for eating it out in the open =P
Schipol airport is a non-smoking airport...but i know for certain as i was in Schipol Airport on the 30th Sept 09, in Terminal G theres a smoking booth, but blink and you will miss it, and its a long walk there so beware of your check in.
Happy smoking
There are several designated smoking areas at the Schiphol Amsterdam airport behind the security. KLM lounge has smoking rooms as well.
everywhere technically. its illegal but you won't be charged if you only have a certain amount. if someone tells you not to smoke somewhere listen to them.
Yes, but only in designated sections.
Anyone who goes to Amsterdam can buy weed, and smoke it, but they are getting more serious about people taking it out of Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is not really a legal place to smoke marijuana, but it is tolerated by police because it bring so much money into their economy via tourism.
If you know people, you can. but officialy it is from the age of 18 possible to smoke weed.
Amsterdam culture is part of the Dutch culture, which is best compared to the genaral culture of northwestern Europe. Americans traditionally believe that Amsterdam is a hotbed of free drug use, free sex and the boom town of homosexuality. In reality, soft drug use is still not an offence in The Netherlands but the shops where you get the stuff are highly regulated. As to sex and homosexuality, Amsterdam used to be a vanguard city in the 80's and 90's, but by now most capital cities in Europe are at least as liberal as Amsterdam and many have by now become much more fashionable than Amsterdam.
He used to smoke but he does not now

In Amsterdam, the possession and use of small quantities of cannabis for personal use in coffee shops is tolerated. However, the production and distribution of cannabis are illegal. Other drugs are strictly prohibited, and possession or trafficking can lead to legal consequences. It is recommended to familiarize oneself with the local laws and regulations before visiting.
I'd say Amsterdam. Here in Vancouver we're referred to as West Amsterdam but technically it's still illegal here and cops can have no association with it. I'm sure with the medicinal marijuana loopholes in the US a cop could smoke weed if say he had a prescription for it.

Now it is still ILLEGAL in Switzerland to plant, to commercialize and to smoke cannabis. Punition will be more severe if you sell it than if you smoke it. You can even go to prison for one day or two if you are caught selling it. However law is variable from canton to canton and some of them TOLERATE limited smoking in some places. There are discussions in Switzerland whether or not to depenalize cannabis... BUT CANNABIS IS STILL ILLEGAL RIGHT NOW... So to reply to the question, NO, marijuana is not legal in Switzerland as it is in Amsterdam.
New Amsterdam was what is now New York City.
i think canada? im not for sure tho Amsterdam
Marijuana is illegal in Amsterdam, the laws are not enforced so most visitors can use it and the police don't enforce it.
