You can reuse tin cans in various ways.
Either the "conventional way" by putting them to different use: in gardening, by putting screws, pencils and other small items into them, or building toys or artwork with them.
Then there is a way to reuse the tins as - tins for food ! Well, no watery food, but dry food like rice, flour, sugar, salt, pasta, spices, coffee, etc.
How to reuse tins for food ?
1. Just clean the tins with light detergent after you emptied their original contents.
2. Then collect them until you have a pair of two tins of the same diameter.
3. Fill both of them to the brim with whatever you want, e.g. rice.
4. Now put a solid, but thin piece of cardboard card, sheet metal - or better: a transparent plastic card - onto one tin, hold it tight there, and proceed to turn the can onto its head. Place it directly above the other tin. Now pull out the cardboard card.
5. Use a single stripe of wide high-quality adhesive tape to glue the two tins together. Measure the required length of the stripe before you start with the whole process, and prepare it so it is ready to use when you need it. A second person may be helpful to hold the two tins while you glue them together with the tape, but is not absolutely necessary.
6. Done ! Your double-tin, held together by adhesive tape, is now watertight and airsealed ! It protects your food from both insects and worms, as well as from mice, rats and other bigger animals. And all at the cost of a single strip of adhesive tape !
To open such a double-tin again, place it over a big bowl to avoid a mess. Or you cold carefully slit open the adhesive tape and do the steps described above in reverse.
For food storage, cans should not be soldered due to the lead content in the solder.

No aluminum cans are not compounds. Aluminum cans are made of aluminum which is an element and is very metallic.
There is absolutely no credible research that leads to that conclusion. Soda cans are coated so that the aluminum does not come in contact with the liquid. The sugar in the soda is far, far more hazardous to your health.
