A mother will continue to produce milk for as long as the baby is nursing. Then, you can keep your milk supply going after weaning your baby by means of manual expression or pumping. The way I understand it, as long as there is demand for the milk, the milk will keep producing. This will go on as long as you want it to. I do not know, however, if menopause affects one's ability to produce milk.

Nursing your baby for four months is a great start! Good job on doing the right thing so far. The national association of pediatricians recommends that a baby me exclusively breast feed for a minimum of six months. So keep up the good work and keep feeding your child the very best. If breast feeding is getting hard for you, contact your local chapter of La Leche League. They can give you additional support and advice to help you keep doing what your baby needs.

Yes. It may take a few days to stimulate the glands, but if the baby is sucking then eventually milk will come out.

How soon can a baby see after birth?

A baby can see immediately after birth, though his/her vision is quite blurry. Babies can see clearly roughly 10-12 inches, which happens to be the distance from a woman's breast to her face. When babies nurse, they are able to clearly and easily see the most important and intriguing thing to them--their mother's face.

What is Breast Mastitis How save is it to feed a baby with this breast when the mother has cold and fever?

Mastitis is inflammation of the mammary gland (the breast). It is probably not a good idea to breastfeed your infant while you have mastitis, as there may be bacteria or other pathogens in the milk produced by this breast. You should probably talk with your OB/GYN as soon as possible, since mastitis can not only affect the baby but can also have significant health impacts on you.
