Nope

The answer is, it depends. A couple of states don't require a permit to carry a concealed gun, but most states do, however, some states allow open carry with no permit, so check your local state laws.

In the United States, yes. As long as said permit is valid in whichever state you are in.

On a lighter note, it is advisable to load the gun with appropriate ammunition and to leave the permit in your wallet.

No you cannot. You have restrictions and will need to check local and state. Some states have lesser restrictions than others. Do not carry a weapon in Washington DC at all. Not even in your trunk. Also some states are reciprocal so you do not have to buy one in every state that you visit or travel through. You will be happy note that most states are passing the Castle Law. Look in to it

What is the law in Tennessee for carrying a hand gun in your car if you have a cwp?

If you have a valid handgun permit from any U.S. state, you can carry the gun loaded and have it anywhere in the vehicle. If you do not have a valid carry permit, you must abide by federal transport law, which basically says the gun must be unloaded and not accessible. The best choice is unloaded and in the trunk with the ammo in a separate container.

Can you carry a gun in your car in Idaho?

If you have a concealed weapon's permit, you may put your gun anywhere in your vehicle, or in your person loaded or unloaded, unless you are in school property. If you do not have a concealed weapon's permit, you may not have it on you, and you may not hide the gun anywhere in your car unless it is unloaded. You may, however, have the gun loaded in your car if it is in plain view. You also cannot have a gun present (loaded or unloaded) in school property.

What are Tennessee laws on carrying a handgun in a car?

Yes. To be legal, it must be unloaded and inacessible. If you don't have a carry permit, the best place to store it is in the trunk, or if you don't have a trunk, as far to the rear of the car (away from anyone in the car) as you can put it. If you have a carry permit from any state in the U.S. you can carry it loaded and accessible. Tennessee recognizes permits from any state.

Can a non felon drive in their car with a loaded handgun?

The majority of states prohibit driving with a loaded handgun unless the person possessing the gun has a carry permit. Some states do allow keeping a handgun loaded in the car but require that it be locked away. Texas is interesting - loaded guns must be out of sight. Other states, like Maryland, are incredibly anti-gun and take their laws seriously. In California, if you carry a loaded gun or part of a gun (e.g. a loaded clip) in the car and it is not in a locked container, you will go to jail and you will be charged with a felony.
