The marlin model 50 and model 50e do not use an extractor. There is only an extractor pin/post. It sets in a slot in the side of the rifle, just ahead of the bolt handle slot. I suppose it's main use is to extract an unfired round. Many are lost and never replaced. I'd sure like to find one
