No. I would not recommend that unless of course your baby has a cold and is in need of childrens medicine.

Your baby is crying for a reason whether it be hunger, thirst, in need of a change, uncomfortable, teething, not feeling well, colic or in need of attention and scared.

You must find out the reason your baby is crying - forcing unneeded medication in your baby is wrong and unnecessary.

If you just don't know what to do please consult your physician (pediatrician) .

AnswerMost cough syrups contains alcohol, so if you give your baby enough it will die, and therefore have stopped crying.

Answeri wouldn't. when i was in high school kids were drinking cough syrup to get high. cough syrup has dextromethorphan in it which can kill and does happen to teens so i wouldn't want to put that in my babies body. it probably will stop the baby from crying though cause its drugged Answer

Giving the baby a drug to make them fall asleep is not a good long term solution. Usually, babies cry for a reason--discomfort, hunger, hot/cold, overtired and so on. Most cry a lot in the first few months. So. You check their diaper, make sure they have been fed recently and burped, lay them down in their clean bed if it is time for a nap (or parental time out), leave the room, and set the timer for 15 minutes. Usually, they will settle down after a few days of this pattern. If it is not naptime, take them for a walk, play with them or move them to another place in the house.
