The dog owner is responsible for his dog so you can sue the owner
Is the dog a citizen?
For what you have lost - medical expenses. Some would sue for pain and suffering, but that's a matter of personal belief. I believe it is wrong to think that "if I hurt, then someone must pay!".
You can certainly sue after filing the same as you can before. I think it's fair to say everyone is someones relative. You cannot, before or after BK, sue someone BECAUSE they are someones relative. That doesn't make them invlved or responsible to you for their relatives actions.

sue the owners of the dog
As long as you were not tresspassing, you can sue the owner of the dog. Their dog is their responsibility.

Ask the vet.
dog-and-owner, or home
Yes you can but you would have to have evidence of it. But I suggest you do not sue them because you wouldn't gain anything, and their dog would be euthanized and that is awful.
That would be according if it was on your property.
If your dog was to attack an intruder in your own yard , im sure he could try to sue but probably could not get very far as the dog was doing what it was suppose to and was protecting your home from him.
In the UK, yes.If the owner of the dog or dogs has a sign up 'Beware of the Dog' this will go in the favour of the complaint, as the owner has already declared that the dog is dangerous.
