No if you want to use the same transmission. They have different bolt patterns.
NO, you need to use a Vortec manifold, tons available from Summit Racing, and the forums at full size chevy have great info on the swap, detailed....
yes but the cpi injection in 1998 is way different than chevy's 1993 throttle body system so the whole computer system must be adapted or swapped and the heads are different so you cannot just swap the intakes.
Yes they are the same block and heads you might have to swap intakes though
Sure, with enough money, time, and all the parts necessary it can be done. My advice is to sell this truck and buy one that already has a V8. You will be money ahead.
You can swap the engine from your 1997 Cavalier 2.2 liter engine to your 2000 Chevy Cavalier. The wiring harness and motor mounts should be in exactly the same.
the simple answer is YES. though, a 94 would be either a t.b.i. system or early vortec. if it is a vortec, the swap shouldn't require a p.c.m. reflash- however if your 94 is a t.b.i. you will need to change the intake and fuel delivery systems to handle the 60 p.s.i. operating pressure for the vortec engine.
it can be done but the 5.3 is a much stronger block. don't get me wrong i love the old sbc and especial the vortecs but the 5.3 is stronger. a simple cam and intake swap can wake it up big time. also the junk yards are full of the 5.3 engines. the 5.7 vortec is getting harder to find.
Yes, and it is an upgrade worth the swap. Let me give you a tip. The 97, will have the newer vortec, 1st design. If you can use the marine version of these heads, as they are thicker castings, and will not overhead, or crack on you. This is really a move more for the high performance. Either casting will be fine for street use.
the 95 and the 93 full size pick ups are identical there should be no need to swap parts the 95 vortec from an S-10 will need the entire intake manifold, exhaust, sensors, and wiring harness from the 93 to make it run
I just did this swap. I had to change the knock sensor and the map sensor. Everything else stayed the same. Works perfect and more power now. The injectors and ecm stayed the same.you may find some answers here at the link below.
