Can you take aspirin with Vicodin?

In general, yes you can as they possess different mechanisms of action. Both hydrocodone (in Vicodin) and ibuprofen (Motrin) can be upsetting to the stomach, however. This is acceptable for short term use, however neither is meant to be taken chronically alone or together unless directed by a physician. Also, if you do decide to take these together, please run it by your doctor and/or pharmacist as this combination or one of the two may not be appropriate for all patients.

Yes. Vicodin contains hydrocodone (an opiate) and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Ibuprofen is in a different drug category, a class called NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). You can also just take Tylenol and ibuprofen together - useful if pain is more than one of them can handle, but low enough that you're not comfortable taking a narcotic pain medication for it.
You should separate them by about 3 hours. Ibuprofen is going to be the better pain killer here, so take that first. Have some food, because it tends to be hard on the stomach. Ibuprofen eases both pain and inflammation, which takes care of a good deal of your pain. It will last about 8 hours. Three hours after taking the ibuprofen, you can take a Vicodin if you need.

The short answer is no.

Vicodin is a combination of acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, and hyrdocodone, an opiate.

Overdoses of acetaminophen are extremely dangerous. In high doses acetaminophen causes acute liver failure. You want to make sure that you're not taking more than 1000mg at a time, and more importantly you don't want to take more than 4000mg in a day.

There's not much reason to combine the drugs anyway. If you tolerate the Vicodin well you would probably sleep better taking more Vicodin than combining it with Tylenol pm. As always, talk to your doctor first.

there are no interactions for taking them together, however vicodin is hydrocodone and apap (Tylenol) that alone can upset your stomach and adding aspirin with it may increase the chance for upset stomach id eat something small such as crackers to decrease the chances of that happening otherwise i think you are safe.

You wouldn't want to take the Ibuprofen with the Vicodin because the Vicodin already have Tylenol in them. As for taking Vicodin with Benydryl its not exactly reccommended but it wont hurt you. Though in my expirience taking Benydryl with Vicodin increases the side-effects of Vicodin such as "Nodding" (or drowsiness) Nasuea, etc.

Motrin (ibuprofen) can be combined w/ Vicodin (hydrocodone) but odds are its not the Vicodin you'll ever come across... most Vicodin is mixed with Tylenol (acetaminophen)

Yes. You just cant take Tylenol with it. I would eat something. Or drink s Glass of milk to coat the stomach
