Norfloxacin is an antibacterial drug belonging to Quinolones. It has no sedative side effects and no interactions with Ethyl alcohol (i.e the alcohol for example in whiskey ,brandy etc.).
Further The BNF (British National Formulary 2008) does not mention of any incompatibilities between alcohol and norfloxacin.
So the conclusion is that these have no interactions harmful to the body.
But there is a different point I want to explain.
Norfloxacin is commonly given for urinary tract infections. Taking alcohol with urinary tract infections is not suitable.

∙ 12y agoOfloxacin is a strong enough antibiotic , therefore it is strongly recommended to stay away from any type of alcohol while taking the drug. You should consider to consume alcohol again only after a week of taking ofloxacin.
