Yes, they are fine. Remember to take your medicine every day whether you feel you need it or not. Bipolars have a bad habit of stopping their medicines because they feel they do not need them any more. The valproic acid is a mood stabilizer and will keep your moods more under control. Lexapro will help your depression.
What kind of patients use valproic acid?
I can only speak for myself, but I am currently taking Valproic acid to control seizures. I have epilepsy and can have as many as 1 - 6 Mini- maul seizures in a day. To counteract these I have been on Valproic acid. I still have seizures from time to time, but it is usually due to forgetting to take my medication or if I sit in front of a computer for to long. I do not play video games or watch TV. These things have also contributed to seizures. I limit my computer use daily now! Everything you do to help yourself is a plus, and you can live with these things if you take the right steps. I would take notes on what I was doing just prior to a seizure, and I would compile this data so I could avoid the things that may contribute to them. With the medication and the steps I've taken, it is manageable and you can live a day to day normal life like I have!:)

There is no problem in taking amoxicillin while on Concerta (or any methylphenidate pills) as long as you require both treatment. It can be taken at the same time.
