Yes, you can alternate between Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Aleve (naproxen) every 6-8 hours.

Note: The maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen is 4,000 mg. The maximum dose of naproxen is 1,500 mg (equivalent to 1,650 mg of naproxen sodium) per day.

NSAIDs (such as Aleve) affect the kidneys with chronic use and should not be used regularly or in excess by patients with renal disorders or if they are hypertensive, diabetic, or take certain medications. Acetaminophen is metabolized by the liver and can lead to hepatic failure if used chronically at high doses. Acetaminophen and any other NSAID (aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen) can be taken together safely as directed on the package or by your physician if you do not have renal or hepatic disease or your doctor has specifically told you not to take it (for example, if you are at risk for GI bleeding).

Advil contains Ibuprofen and Aleve contains Naproxen sodium. Both considered NSAID's (non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs) as well as Acetamenophen (tylenol) . You can alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen as a pain medicine or anti inflammatory because Ibuprofen is metabolized by the kidneys and Acetamenophen is metabolized by the liver. So neither of the organs is overtaxed by overuse. You can take 2800mg of Tylenol daily and 3200mg of Advil daily, so do not exceed those doses. Do not take Advil and Aleve because both of those meds are metabolized by the kidneys. Advil contains Ibuprofen and Aleve contains Naproxen sodium. aleve is for pain and advil cold and sinus is for well, colds and sinuses. i don't think it's a good idea to take both of these medications. i have taken advil cold and sinus and it works for my sinus pressure and pain, so i don't need any other medications. i think you should ask your doctor or pharmacist to make sure as I'm not a doctor. advil cold and sinus works so well on my husband, he keeps it in stock. he swears by it.

Advil and Aleve should not be taken together. They are both NSAID medications, which can cause very serious liver problems if they are abused.

I would not try that. I would not recomend taking aleve at all, expect on rare occasions if you have an extreme pain.
