B.Tech and Lateral B.tech are different. B.Tech is a 4 Year degree program where as Lateral entry B.Tech is direct admission to 2nd year of B.tech Degree program for those students who have done 3 year diploma from some recognized university. Choosing a university is also difficult task as there are number of universities and institutes if you look around, therefore getting admission is not difficult but getting admission into a unparallel university is a challenge.
