Cjonb and I have spent the last two days researching this. The results are as follows:This mixture may cause seizures...What apparently happened was that this problem was not noted in clinical trials of the drug, but was later reported in the field after the drug was approved. And so the labels were changed.A little background is necessary:* Tramadol itself can cause seizures, especially if the patient is overdosing* Trycyclic antidepressants are pretty extreme, as they have some nasty side effects. They're not quite the drug of last resort, but they're getting there.* If someone on tricyclics and tramadol seizes, it's very hard to identify the exact process that caused the seizure -- maybe the tramadol; maybe the psyche med; whoknows?* The Cyclobenzaprine molecule, like quite a few other compounds, has three rings in attached to a central structure, as do tricyclics. This alone would usually not be enough to counterindicate -- but in this oddball case, it is, or should have been.* These two meds were often prescribed together, and even today, probably still are.* The seizure risk, while extant, is not extreme.* Taking any drug means you're accepting a desired effect, and a few undesired ones. It's pretty much never purely all benefit. Tramadol is like this.
Most psychiatrists, including mine, don't recommend it due to the risk of seratonin syndrome. I'm not sure what the actual risk is, though. Regardless, make sure you consult with a professional. Or, read research article on this topic on sites like pubmed. To be honest, I'm going to try it myself and see what happens. Best of luck to you...
No, not unless a qualified medical Doctor has told you to do this.
my god, yes!
You should only take pills together that the doctor prescribes. A pharmacist or your doctor will be able to determine if the medicine can be taken together.
Yes they can take together
No, you cannot take two tramadol 50mg instead of one for pain. It is important to always take the correct prescription from a doctor.
can tramadol 50mg and valium 10mg be taken 6 hours apart
I'm certain you can. I recently had a Grade 2 MCL injury and I was given 50mg of Tramadol (one pill 4 times a day as needed) along with 750mg of Nabumetone (two pills once a day).
could someone tell me if you can take tramadol and benztropine together
can you take skelaxin at the same time you are taking tramadol
You should not take two pain medications at the same time. Take the Mobiglan first - it is the stronger medication. Take some food with it, as it can be harsh on the stomach. If you do not feel significantly better in a couple of hours, you can take tramadol then.
Yes they can but if you know what's good for you pls stay away from tramadol, this drug has made my life a nightmare. Yeah it works for the pain but the withdrawl symptoms that comes when you stop taking it are pure hell!
You should not be taking hydrocodone with tramadol(Ultram), hydrocodone(Vicodin)is an MU agonist, tramadol is a partial MU agonist, if you build any kind of a tolerance with the hydrocodone and then take tramadol(50mg)it will/can initiate opiate withdrawl syndrome almost instantly! You'll be very, very unhappy if this were to occur.
ol and piroxicam together
yes
