When you clean out his/her cage it is okay to put him in a box. make sure he won't escape. But PLEASE don't use an ordinary box as his real cage.
Also:
Make sure you use an open topped box so he can breathe.
Ensure that the sides are high so that he cannot jump out, especially if he is not tame.
Don't leave him in a box (especially if it small for a long time because he will probably start to feel stressed and trapped.

∙ 15y agoYes, they will in fact be more happy in a normal sized cage. Just make sure that there are not any holes big enough for them to crawl through and get out.
