You can imitate the moves from kung fu movies or online instructional videos. However, you should seek out a teacher in order to learn the details of breathing, body weight distribution, body alignment, and footwork in order to effectively use it. It is more possible to learn Martial Arts from books after you've had a little training from an instructor... To start from scratch would be quite difficult, but it could be done... Those that train from books, however mostly lack good technique. One needs an instructor to keep them doing their art correctly...
