I have the same motor.
Johnson - 50hp - Power tilt & trim - 20 in. shaft - 9 - 9 - Model suffix
The ee is the two digit year '99
I have this motor too-it was 99 model year and mine was manufactured in June 1998.
Check serial number on the left side of the motor where it bolts to the transom. Mine has a metal tag with model and serial number.
With Johnson outboards, we cannot tell you the age from the serial number. If you tell us the HP of the engine, and it's model number (usually on the clamp bracket), then we can tell you how old it is.
can someone tell me what the gas to oil mixture for a 48 spl Johnson boat motor is please
No idea on the worth as I got mine non running for 10.00 at a yard sale. I can tell you that it is a 1939.
The year model for a Johnson outboard, is determined by use of the engine model number. The model number is recorded on a metal tag, for early models, riveted to the side of the stern, or clamp bracket. On late model engines, the number is displayed on a decal, affixed to the swivel bracket. PLEASE SHOW ME AN EXAMPLE

Had a powerhead repair guy tell me 450
On pre 1980 model Johnson / Evinrude outboards, look up the model number in the OMC model number reference guide. This guide will list model numbers manufactured since 1913.
Evinrude and Johnson outboards decipher the year model of the engine, by use of the engine model number.
The model # breaks down as follows: J=Johnson (As opposed to E for Evinrude...both are OMC products.) 8=7.5 horsepower, rounded up similar to motorcycle cc's. R=Rope start CI=81, as in 1981 to answer your question. C=Model run or suffix, which means nothing to us, at least as far as I can tell. I have the same motor...hope that helps. ;) J.B.
Reversing polarity is not possible with an ac motor. Some do have wiring that will allow you to change rotation. The type and model of the motor can tell you if it is reversible.
A hobby motor is a motor that supplies power to projects and toys. You can easily add movement to something that doesnt move like a model car or boat.
