There is no doubt that a student enrolled in a university in California can transfer to a junior university providing that the requirements of the junior college are met. Since junior colleges are two year places of higher learning, it only makes sense to transfer if a student has less than two years of study at a 4 year university.

That mostly depends on what you'll be doing for your major. If you need a lot of math classes before you can start your major coursework, it's a good idea to do them at your Jr. College, even if it were possible to transfer in with much less. For most majors, however, having completed a college-level Algebra course is plenty of math.
The registration office will have the info. you seek. Required classes & credits will vary but if you are in a jr college, complete your AA there since it is much cheaper & then leave when you have to.
