Using the latest iOS software from Apple Inc (iOS 5.0.1- available to download in iTunes when you connect your iPad) you can use iCloud to wirelessly sync and iWork documents between your iPad, iPhone, iPod, Mac or PC. All you have to have is an iPad with the latest software, and Apple ID, and a Mac with the latest updates. After updating your iPad to iOS 5, you will be asked to setup iCloud. This is a very simple and self-explanatory process. Once you finish the setup, you can go to Apple.com/icloud and download the iCloud program for Mac if it isnt already installed. OR you can go to icloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Once signed in either on your Mac or iCloud.com you can access your iWork data. From either of these places, you can download your Pages documents as PAGES files, WORD files or PDF files. ---•--•---•--•--•--•---•----•-----•------•-------• If you do not want to setup iCloud (it is recommended you do this because Apple is promoting iCloud and will soon encorporate it in everything) you can open Pages on your iPad and tap EDIT on the main screen. Select the documents you would like to have on your computer. Then tap the Share button (first on the top left) and select SEND TO iTUNES. Now connect your iPad to iTunes and view it in the DEVICES sectin of iTunes. Under your iPad, select the Apps tab on the top row. Scroll down until you see something about file sharing. You should see a list of apps that share files, find PAGES and selct it. In the right you will see all of the documents you selected earlier for sharing. You can now download and share them.
You can email the Word file to your iPad and use Pages (a paid app from Apple) to open it up and edit it.
