Absolutely NOT. They are vital to directional changes while hunting/chasing prey. They also assist with detection of air movement and help the cat navigate between furniture and other obsticals at night.
no
No! Once, my teacher's daughter cut his cats whiskers off because she was little and she didnt know any better. Then the cat couldnt measure space, so it tried to fit in a space, but didnt know it was too big and got stuck because it's whiskers were too short.
Try to avoid any wiskers. though they will grow back a cat needs their wiskers at all times.
they have 24 whiskers
I dont know if its the same with dogs but my cats wiskers got cut off. It didnt seem to hurt him and they grew back in about a week.
featherwisker-silver grey tom with long, feathery wiskers sagestem-white she-cat with long wiskers
grow wiskers and run into the wild
If you cut or trim a cats whiskers they will lose their scence of direction. So they could possably lose their way home; And end up finding your cat somewhere!!!! (DEAD) HA HA HA HA HA HA
Their whiskers are hairs, so yes they grow new ones when others are lost.
they will grow back they will not die if one of their whiskers fall out it is like us we lose our teeth and our teeth grow into adult teeth right? will for them they lose their whiskers and like I said they grow back.
It has no effect. Most people cut their dog/cat's wiskers for them to look good.
yes. My cats will leave wiskers on my bed and i think its pretty neat.
no, their macula can see through a bounty bar, a muesli bar AND a can ok coke. but they can go blind if you chop their wiskers off.
Cats use their whiskers to manuver. While going through narrow spaces, their wiskers brush up against them. They use that to gauge wether or not they can fit through.
Cat whiskers are so they don't bump into things. They let the cat know if the rest of their body will fit into a place so they won't get stuck.
