How do you remove an air filter?

Every system is a little different, but the general steps are usually the same. First, know what size your filter is, and have a spare on hand. Have a full sized garbage bag nearby as well. Turn off the air conditioner. Open the grate, and gently out the filter. Put it straight into the garbage bag so that it does not reintroduce dust into the air from being moved around. Tie the bag shut. Unwrap the new filter, and look for a printed arrow to see which side should point out. Gently press the new filter back into place, replace the grate, throw away the old filter, wash your hands, and turn the air conditioner back on.

How do you install an air conditioner filter?

It depends if it is a central unit or a window unit. A central unit will have a return air duct with a hinged grate. open the grate and pull out the old filter. Check the size and go to the store and buy that size filter. Put the filter in the way you took it out. A window air conditioner either has a foam, fiber, or screen type filter. If it has a screen type, just pull on the tab that should say filter on it and slide it out. You can was this type in the sink, let it dry and then put it back in. The foam and fiber type you have to remove the front of the unit, usually held on by metal clips behind the facing. Pull the front off and pull the filter out. These have to be replaced

Yes.... The reason being is that when the air conditioner is running it causes moisture to be removed and deposited in the back of the machine from which it is dripped out . What you do not want to do is power wash the back

How do you change 2002 ford explorer front brakes when piston caliper appears to be frozen?

If you can't compress the piston with a C clamp back in to position to fit the new brake pads I would suggest replacing the caliper completely.

Where is the air conditioner filter located in a 1997 ford contour?

There is no such thing as an A/C filter. There is however a cabin filter. Are you sure this vehicle has a cabin filter? I do not think it does. Your owners manual will have this info. There is a cabin filter on the '97 Ford Contour. You need to turn the windshield wipers to the on position (straight up) and pry the caps from the cowl panel. Remove screws. Open the hood and gently pull back the weatherstripping on the back of the engine. Remove the screws holding the cowl panel. Remove the two pieces and remove two clips that hold the filter housing and remove the housing from the vehicle. You should then be able to slide the filter out to replace it.
