You can't sell weeds for bells (money) on Animal Crossing but you can sell flowers, furniture, clothes and fruit that you shake off the trees for money at Tom Nooks store. If you pick up a weed it should dissappear unless it is a dandelion then it will be stored in your pockets screen. The money you earn can pay off some of your mortgage at the town hall.
