When you get a gold cup on all nitro grand prixs on 100cc you unlock a third kart for each character and when you get a gold cup on all nitro grand prixs on 150cc, each character has their three karts and 4 karts from other characters (including the ones you haven't unlocked yet!). When you win all the cups on 150cc mirror mode any character can play as any kart!!!!
