You can upgrade the PSU or power supply unit on most computers to improve its ability to support more hardware. This can include better video cards, more hard drives, or additional cooling fans.
Yes, it would be a good idea to upgrade your power supply. The 600w mark is a standard for performance machines. While 400w will effectively power a basic home computer, it's a good idea to go ahead and upgrade the power supply when you upgrade core components.
PC, cheaper, easier to upgrade, more power efficent (if you get a good 80+ psu), run cooler, etc
No. It is a Navratna PSU
No, this would likely require a new mobo, a new psu and additional cooling. Too hard in a laptop.
psu means public sector unit
PSU stands for Public Sector Undertakings
My personal opinion on this, would be to purchase a new PSU. With having such a high end PC, running a 350w psu, is sacrilege. If your running this, as a media centre, though, it would be fine. If its a main PC, then definitely upgrade the psu. Anything over 450w, closer to the 600w would be the way to go.. Hope this helps, be safe nige cadishead computers sacrilege sacrilege
I'm the OP on this question and I just want to add that the computer is an HP Pavilion and the GPU change in question is changing from a Geforce 9100 to a Geforce GTX 650
I personally have never heard of them, I would recommend an XFX psu.

PSU calculators are also known as Power Supply Calculators. If an individual is interested in purchasing a PSU calculator, they can purchase them at Wal-mart, Tom's Hardware, and Target.
I would say 700Watt PSU. 600W may be enough but depending on the number of drives/lights/fans you have you might be cutting it close. Your graphics card is likely to be the bigger power user in your machine and should have a recommended PSU Watt rating. If you are wanting upgrade your rig and SLI/X-fire your graphics cards you will need the 900W.
