what the hell is a energy spear? If you mean energy sword, that shiny, colorful thing, you just attack as normal. If you mean the Gravity Hammer, the long black thing with a blade looking thing on the back and three strips of blue on a rectangle black thing, attack as usual. But those two are both close-range. Very powerful though. Gravity Hammer the second most(maybe)powerful weapon in Halo 3.
