Technically it is possible if you plugged your instrument's output cable, which has a 1/4 inch male jack, into a converter with a female 1/4 inch plug and a male 3.5mm (headphone jack size) jack. then plug the male 3.5mm side into the ihome and rock out. I'm sure this will work, but the quality of sound will probably not be great. Good luck!
